MDCAT 2015
218 questions, every answer verified. Free to try.
ℹ️ 218 of 220 questions available. Q83 and Q150 are left out because they depend on diagrams we could not recover. Where the old key contradicts clear science (Q2, Q4, Q16, Q38, Q122), the correct answer is used and explained.
When the official key is wrong, we say so.
Every answer here is checked against the official key published for that paper. Where the key and the subject disagree — and on some papers that happens dozens of times — we mark the answer the science supports, and the explanation on that question says plainly that we have departed from the key and why. One paper's published key turned out to belong to a different paper code entirely.
Where a question cannot be resolved at all — an unreadable scan, a missing diagram, an option the original paper never printed — we switch it off rather than guess, and the paper's own note tells you how many are missing and which. That is why a paper can read 218 of 220 instead of a tidy 100%: the number is the truth about the paper, not a target.

One method of creating an inverted population is known as _________ and consist of illuminating the laser material with light.
- A.Optical Pumping
- B.Excitation
- C.Bremsstrahlung
- D.Holography
Show answer
Answer: A. Optical Pumping — Population inversion is created by optical pumping, illuminating the laser material with light so more atoms sit in the excited state than the ground state.
- Q2 · MDCAT 2015 · Chemical Equilibrium
‘Ka’ values of few organic acids are given: Acid Ka Value CH₃COOH 1.85 × 10⁻⁵ CCl₃COOH 2.3 × 10⁻² CHCl₂COOH 5.0 × 10⁻³ CH₂ClCOOH 1.3 × 10⁻³ The order of acid strength is:
- A.CCl₃COOH > CHCl₂COOH > CH₂ClCOOH > CH₃COOH
- B.CH₃COOH > CHCl₂COOH > CCl₃COOH > CH₂ClCOOH
- C.CHCl₂COOH > CH₃COOH > CCl₃COOH > CH₂ClCOOH
- D.CCl₃COOH > CH₃COOH > CHCl₂COOH > CH₂ClCOOH
Show answer
Answer: A. CCl₃COOH > CHCl₂COOH > CH₂ClCOOH > CH₃COOH — Acid strength follows the size of Ka: the larger the Ka, the stronger the acid, so ranking the given Ka values from largest to smallest gives CCl3COOH > CHCl2COOH > CH2ClCOOH > CH3COOH.

In spite of all the torture, the police has failed to _________ any confession from the thief.
- A.Convince
- B.Elicit
- C.Refuse
- D.Agree
Show answer
Answer: B. Elicit — "Elicit" means to draw out — the police failed to elicit a confession.
