Why no 2020 or 2021? Those years' MDCAT was run by PMC rather than UHS, and we couldn't find a complete, reliable copy of either paper — so we don't publish a guessed version.
197 of 200 questions — why?
197 of 200 questions available. Q2 is left out because the correct answer (virion) is not an option and UHS removed it from marking; Q11 prints the correct option twice; Q110's diagram options are missing from our source.
195 of 200 questions — why?
This paper has 195 of the original 200 questions. 5 questions (Q1, Q64, Q176, Q189, Q190 in the original paper) were not recoverable from our source material and are not included.
219 of 220 questions — why?
219 of 220 questions available. Physics Q188 is missing from the only surviving copy of this paper, so it is left out rather than guessed at.
216 of 220 questions — why?
This paper has 216 of the original 220 questions. The last 4 (Chemistry) were illegible in every copy of the original paper we checked, so they're left out rather than guessed at.
216 of 220 questions — why?
216 of 220 questions available. Q10, Q31 and Q103 are missing from every copy of this paper we found, and Q220 is blacked out in the source, so they are left out rather than guessed at.
218 of 220 questions — why?
218 of 220 questions available. Q83 and Q150 are left out because they depend on diagrams we could not recover. Where the old key contradicts clear science (Q2, Q4, Q16, Q38, Q122), the correct answer is used and explained.
214 of 220 questions — why?
214 of 220 questions available; Q25, Q40, Q49, Q53, Q68 and Q112 are withheld because none (or more than one) of their printed options is correct. Option letters match the printed paper. Where the old UHS key contradicts clear science the correct answer is used and explained.
218 of 220 questions — why?
218 of 220 questions available; Q104 and Q112 are withheld because none of their printed options is correct. Option letters match the printed paper. Where the old UHS key contradicts clear science the correct answer is used and explained.
219 of 220 questions — why?
219 of 220 questions available; Q148 was voided in UHS's own key. Option letters match the printed paper. Where the old key contradicts clear science the correct answer is used and explained.
About this paper
All 220 questions available. Where the old UHS key contradicts clear science, the scientifically correct answer is used and explained; obvious misprints in formulas are corrected.
219 of 220 questions — why?
219 of 220 questions available; one (Q13) is withheld because none of its printed options is correct. Where the old key contradicts clear science the correct answer is used and explained.
213 of 220 questions — why?
213 of 220 questions available. Q76 was never resolved in UHS's key; six others are withheld because the printed question has no single correct option. Obvious misprints in formulas are corrected, and where the old key contradicts clear science the correct answer is used and explained.
216 of 220 questions — why?
216 of 220 questions available. Q95 and Q195 were never resolved in UHS's key; Q116 and Q127 are withheld because no option is correct. Where the old printed key contradicts clear science, the scientifically correct answer is used and explained.
When the official key is wrong, we say so.
Every answer here is checked against the official key published for that paper. Where the key and the subject disagree — and on some papers that happens dozens of times — we mark the answer the science supports, and the explanation on that question says plainly that we have departed from the key and why. One paper's published key turned out to belong to a different paper code entirely.
Where a question cannot be resolved at all — an unreadable scan, a missing diagram, an option the original paper never printed — we switch it off rather than guess, and the paper's own note tells you how many are missing and which. That is why a paper can read 218 of 220 instead of a tidy 100%: the number is the truth about the paper, not a target.
