MDCAT 2018
219 questions, every answer verified. Free to try.
ℹ️ 219 of 220 questions available. Physics Q188 is missing from the only surviving copy of this paper, so it is left out rather than guessed at.
When the official key is wrong, we say so.
Every answer here is checked against the official key published for that paper. Where the key and the subject disagree — and on some papers that happens dozens of times — we mark the answer the science supports, and the explanation on that question says plainly that we have departed from the key and why. One paper's published key turned out to belong to a different paper code entirely.
Where a question cannot be resolved at all — an unreadable scan, a missing diagram, an option the original paper never printed — we switch it off rather than guess, and the paper's own note tells you how many are missing and which. That is why a paper can read 218 of 220 instead of a tidy 100%: the number is the truth about the paper, not a target.

- Q1 · MDCAT 2018 · Circulation
The thickest chamber of human heart is
- A.Left atrium
- B.Right atrium
- C.Right ventricle
- D.Left ventricle
Show answer
Answer: D. Left ventricle — The left ventricle has the thickest muscular wall, since it pumps blood at high pressure through the entire systemic circulation.
- Q2 · MDCAT 2018 · Reaction Kinetics
If concentration time graph of a reactant indicates a constant half-life, then the order of reaction with respect to that reactant is:
- A.zero order
- B.half order
- C.second order
- D.first order
Show answer
Answer: D. first order — A constant half-life (independent of starting concentration) is the defining signature of a first-order reaction.
- Q3 · MDCAT 2018 · Work and Energy
A 5 watt LED bulb converts 80% of the power into light photons of wavelength 660 nm. What is the number of photons emitted from the bulb in one second.
- A.5.8 × 10³⁴
- B.7.5 × 10¹⁸
- C.6.6 × 10⁷
- D.1.3 × 10¹⁹
Show answer
Answer: D. 1.3 × 10¹⁹ — Energy per photon E=hc/λ ≈ 3.01×10⁻¹⁹ J; with 4W of light power (80% of 5W), photons/sec = 4/3.01×10⁻¹⁹ ≈ 1.3×10¹⁹.
