How to register, step by step

  1. Make an account on ugadmissions.nust.edu.pk with a working email.
  2. Fill in the form. Enter your marks exactly as they are on your documents. O and A Level students use IBCC equivalence marks.
  3. Upload a photo taken within the last month, on a plain background.
  4. Pick your programmes in the order you actually want them. NUST only considers the programmes you select.
  5. Pay Rs. 5,000 through 1Link (mobile banking, ATM, Easypaisa, JazzCash) or by credit card. Keep the receipt.
  6. Choose your test date and session (computer-based) or wait for your allotment (paper-based, first come, first served).
  7. Print your admit card and bring it with an original photo ID, such as a CNIC, Form B, passport, or Matric or FSc certificate with your photo.

You can register on your FSc Part-I marks if you have at least 60% in Matric. You don't upload documents now. NUST checks them during selection.

NET fee for 2027

CandidateFee per series
Pakistani or dual nationalRs. 5,000 (USD 40)
Foreign nationalRs. 10,000 (USD 80)

The fee is non-refundable and only counts for the series you paid it for. Two attempts cost Rs. 10,000, and three cost Rs. 15,000. Top-three position holders in HSSC board exams don't pay the fee.

Should you take NET-1?

Yes, if you can be ready in about five weeks. Here's why an early attempt is low-risk:

  • Best score counts, so a weak NET-1 won't hurt a strong NET-3.
  • Computer-based results come out within 24 hours, so you get a real baseline fast.
  • You see the real test screen before the attempt that matters most.

You can take each series only once per discipline, and a NET-2027 score counts for Fall 2027 only. If you miss your session, you usually lose that attempt. For help choosing between series, read which NET series to take.

Where is the NUST NET conducted?

Computer-based tests are held at the NUST H-12 campus in Islamabad and at the NUST Balochistan Campus in Quetta. Paper-based tests are held in Karachi and Gilgit. For NET-2027, Series 1 and Series 3 are Islamabad only, Series 2 adds Quetta and Karachi, and Series 4 covers all four cities.

Practise before your series

NET-Engineering has 200 MCQs in three hours: Mathematics 50%, Physics 30% and English 20%, with no negative marking. The best way to prepare is to sit full timed papers.

Always confirm the dates on NUST's Dates to Remember page before you pay. We checked it on 12 October 2026.
