How the NUST aggregate is calculated

Aggregate = (NET marks ÷ 200 × 75) + (FSc Part-I / HSSC % × 0.15) + (Matric / SSC % × 0.1)

Worked example: Matric 1000/1100 (90.91%), FSc Part-I / HSSC 470/550 (85.45%) and 140/200 in NET:

  • Matric / SSC × 10% = 9.091
  • FSc Part-I / HSSC × 15% = 12.818
  • NET × 75% = 52.500

Total: 74.409%. Every NET mark is worth 0.375 aggregate points, so NET is still the part you can move the most.

NUST aggregate FAQs

What is the NUST aggregate formula?

NUST ranks NET candidates on 75% NET, 15% HSSC and 10% SSC. In marks: (NET score ÷ 200 × 75) + (FSc % × 0.15) + (Matric % × 0.10). The weights are the same for every NET-basis programme.

Which FSc marks does NUST use?

Your FSc Part-I marks if you apply while still in second year, otherwise your complete HSSC result. You still need at least 60% in the complete FSc when you join.

How is the aggregate worked out for A Level students?

A Level candidates in their final year get 25% weight for their O Level equivalence (from the IBCC certificate) plus 75% NET, in place of the separate 10% Matric and 15% FSc. Choose 'A Level (final year)' in the calculator.

If I take NET more than once, which score counts?

Your best NET score from the current admission cycle. A weaker later attempt never pulls your aggregate down.

How much is one NET mark worth?

0.375 aggregate points (75 ÷ 200). One percent in FSc is worth 0.15 points, so one NET mark is worth 2.5% of FSc marks.

Which subject split does 'Correct by subject' use?

NET-Engineering: Mathematics 100, Physics 60 and English 40 MCQs, with no negative marking. Other NET papers split their 200 marks differently, so enter your total instead.

What aggregate do I need for NUST?

NUST doesn't announce a cutoff in advance. Closing merit depends on the year's applicants and differs a lot by programme and campus. Use last session's closing merit for your programme, plus a margin, as your target in the 'NET score I need' tab.

Formula sources: NUST Merit Generation Criteria (NET basis). Admitting bodies can change the rules for any session, so confirm against the current prospectus before relying on a number.
