Students search for NUST NET past papers hoping questions repeat. NUST doesn't publish its papers, so here's what the papers you find online really are, what actually repeats from year to year, and which topics carry the most questions in our eight NET-pattern papers.

"Do NET questions repeat?" is one of the most common questions NUST applicants ask. It's an understandable hope: if questions repeat, solving old papers would be a shortcut.

The honest answer is more useful than a yes or no. NUST doesn't publish its papers, so nobody can check exact repeats. But topics repeat every time, because the syllabus is fixed. This guide explains what NET "past papers" really are, and which topics carry the most questions.

Quick answer

  • NUST doesn't publish NET papers. What you find online are recalled, reconstructed or prepared papers, not official ones.
  • NUST does publish a sample test on its admissions portal, for practice with the test format.
  • Exact repeats can't be confirmed. NUST says it consults the HSSC textbooks to develop its question bank, and it publishes no papers to check against.
  • Topics repeat every time. The NET covers the FSc Part I and Part II course, so the same chapters always appear.
  • In our eight NET-pattern papers, Trigonometry, Differentiation and Integration carry the most Maths questions, Motion and Force the most Physics questions, and vocabulary the most English questions.

What "NET past papers" online really are

Because NUST doesn't release its papers, every "NUST past paper" online is one of these:

  • Recalled papers: questions students remembered after their test and wrote down. Often incomplete, sometimes with wrong answers.
  • Reconstructed papers: collections of recalled questions mixed with similar new ones.
  • Prepared papers: full papers written on the NET pattern from the FSc textbooks. Ours are this kind, and we label them that way.

None of these is an official NUST paper. That doesn't make them useless. A well-made paper on the right pattern is excellent practice. But don't expect to see the same questions on test day.

NUST also warns students about organisations claiming to be linked to NUST for test preparation. It says it doesn't run or sponsor any preparation activity and doesn't provide preparation material.

Do questions repeat?

Exact questions: you can't count on it. NUST says its test is compiled from the textbooks prescribed for HSSC, and that "textbooks are consulted while developing the question bank." With no published papers, there's no reliable way to check whether any question has been used before.

Question types: yes. The same kinds of questions come up again and again, because the same textbook concepts are tested: trigonometric identities, derivatives of standard functions, equations of motion, series and parallel circuits, synonyms and antonyms.

Topics: every time. Every FSc chapter is fair game in every series. NUST says the test covers both Part I and Part II.

So the best use of old or prepared papers is to learn the question types and your weak topics, not to memorise answers.

Which topics carry the most questions?

NUST doesn't publish chapter weightage. The tables below show the topic mix in the eight NET-pattern papers ParhaiKrlo prepared from the FSc textbooks. They show how we spread questions across the syllabus. They're not official NUST data.

How to use past papers well

  1. Start with one full paper under test conditions: 200 MCQs in 180 minutes. That's your baseline.
  2. Review every wrong answer and every guess. Read the explanation and note the topic.
  3. Count your mistakes by topic after two or three papers. Your weak areas will be obvious.
  4. Go back to the textbook for those topics, then practise topic-wise MCQs.
  5. Sit another full paper every week or two to check you're improving.
  6. Try NUST's own sample test on ugadmissions.nust.edu.pk. It's the best way to get used to the real test screen.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does NUST publish NET past papers?

No. NUST doesn't publish its NET papers. Papers online are recalled, reconstructed or prepared on the NET pattern. NUST does publish a sample test on ugadmissions.nust.edu.pk for practice.

Do NUST NET questions repeat?

Exact repeats can't be confirmed, because NUST publishes no papers. Topics and question types do repeat, because the NET is built from the FSc Part I and Part II textbooks.

Which Maths topics carry the most NET questions?

In ParhaiKrlo's eight NET-pattern papers, Trigonometry (about 11 per paper), Differentiation (about 10) and Integration (about 9) carry the most, and the top seven topics make up about 60% of the Maths questions. NUST doesn't publish chapter weightage.

Are NET past papers online useful?

Yes, as practice for the format, timing and question types, and to find your weak topics. They aren't official, so don't expect to see the same questions on test day.

Does NUST provide preparation material for NET?

No. NUST says it doesn't run or sponsor any entry test preparation and doesn't provide material, and it warns students about organisations claiming a link to NUST.
