How the MDCAT aggregate is calculated
Aggregate = (MDCAT marks ÷ 180 × 50) + (FSc Pre-Medical / HSSC % × 0.4) + (Matric / SSC % × 0.1)
Worked example: Matric 1000/1100 (90.91%), FSc Pre-Medical / HSSC 950/1100 (86.36%) and 150/180 in MDCAT:
- Matric / SSC × 10% = 9.091
- FSc Pre-Medical / HSSC × 40% = 34.545
- MDCAT × 50% = 41.667
Total: 85.303%. Every MDCAT mark is worth 0.278 aggregate points, so MDCAT is still the part you can move the most.
MDCAT aggregate FAQs
What is the MDCAT aggregate formula?
Under PMDC's Admissions Regulations, merit is 50% MDCAT, 40% FSc (Pre-Medical) or HSSC, and 10% Matric or SSC. In marks: (MDCAT score ÷ 180 × 50) + (FSc % × 0.4) + (Matric % × 0.1).
What are the MDCAT passing marks?
55% (99 out of 180) for MBBS and 50% (90 out of 180) for BDS. Passing only makes you eligible to apply; colleges then rank eligible candidates by aggregate.
How much is one MDCAT mark worth?
About 0.278 aggregate points (50 ÷ 180). One percent in FSc is worth 0.4 points, so a single MDCAT mark equals roughly 0.7% of FSc marks.
Is the formula the same in every province?
PMDC sets the base weightage. Each province's admitting university (UHS in Punjab, for example) sets the merit rules for its public colleges, including reserved seats, and private colleges may count their own tests or interviews. Check your province's prospectus for the final word.
My board's total is 1100, not 1200. Does the calculator handle that?
Yes. Punjab's boards moved to 1200 from the 2025 exams, so 1200 is filled in, but you can tap 1100 or type any total in the Total marks box. The calculator converts obtained ÷ total to a percentage before weighting it.
Can I use a mock test score instead of my real MDCAT result?
Yes. MDCAT has no negative marking, so your score is simply the number of correct answers. Enter a mock score, or the correct answers in each subject, to see where it would put you.
