UET Lahore hasn't announced ECAT 2027 dates yet. In 2026 there were two ECATs: the first in late March, the second in mid-June.
Updated: 22 October 2026. We'll update this page when UET publishes the 2027 schedule.
Quick answer
- ECAT 2027 dates: not announced yet.
- Last cycle: ECAT-I ran 30 March to 3 April 2026, ECAT-II ran 16 to 21 June 2026.
- Fee: Rs 3,000 per attempt (2026).
- Attempts: you can sit more than once. UET counts your best score.
- Where: ecat.uet.edu.pk for the test, admission.uet.edu.pk for admission.
The 2026 timeline
| Step | ECAT-I 2026 | ECAT-II 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Last date to apply | 22 March | 13 June |
| Test | 30 March to 3 April | 16 to 21 June |
| Result | 17 April | 30 June |
The first ECAT was computer-based, with an orientation session on 28 March. If 2027 follows the same pattern, expect the first ECAT around March and the second around June. That's a guess from last year, not a UET date, so check the portal before you plan around it.
How registration works
The ECAT portal lists five steps:
- Generate and pay the challan. Rs 3,000 in 2026, paid through the bank. The token can't be refunded or transferred.
- Fill in the application form before the last date.
- Print your admit card when UET releases it.
- Sit the test at the date, time and centre on your admit card.
- Check your result on the portal.
ECAT is not the admission form
Passing ECAT doesn't put you on a merit list. Admission is a separate application on admission.uet.edu.pk. In 2026 it opened on 8 June and closed on 15 July, and the first merit list came out on 24 July.
So you need both: an ECAT score, and an admission application with your programme preferences.
Who can sit ECAT
UET says anyone can take the test. Sitting it doesn't by itself make you eligible for admission. For that you need the Intermediate marks your programme asks for (60% for engineering, 50% for computing) and, for open merit seats, a Punjab domicile.
On test day
- Reach the centre at least 30 minutes early.
- Bring your admit card and an original photo ID (CNIC, B-Form or juvenile card, Matric or Intermediate certificate with photo, or passport).
- Calculators, phones, books and bags aren't allowed. UET gives you paper for rough work. Bring a simple ballpoint pen.
- If you miss your slot, you can't retake it in that window.
