About 79% of Punjab's MDCAT 2026 candidates passed for MBBS. Passing isn't the hard part: 8,454 candidates scored 160 or more, and Punjab has 4,151 public MBBS seats.

What the numbers mean
Passing only makes you eligible. Seats go by aggregate merit: 50% MDCAT, 40% FSc and 10% Matric.
The top of the table is crowded. The UHS prospectus lists 4,151 public MBBS seats in Punjab, quota seats included. Nearly twice that many candidates scored 160 or more. Students with valid 2024 and 2025 MDCAT scores can apply too.
Your FSc marks matter. Two students with the same MDCAT score can end up far apart on the merit list. Work out your own figure with the MDCAT merit calculator.
We don't quote closing merits for 2026. They won't exist until the selection lists come out, and the figures circulating online are from last year.
What to do with your score
- 160 or above: apply to public colleges by 30 October 2026. See the UHS MBBS admission 2026-27 dates.
- Between about 120 and 160: apply to public colleges anyway, and to private colleges as a backup. Compare costs in our private college fee guide.
